Blog Update
My top success so far was coding the code that I needed for my rover. I worked really hard for it and I am very proud of this. I have worked on my project for 3 days straight with almost no rest in between. This was something that was very challenging for me. It was also new to me, the fact that I worked on something for that long felt truly amazing. If I could go back in time, I would work on this project more because I think that if I stretched the time, I wouldn't be so tired and could do more work. Thank you for reading. Until next time!

Good Things
Hey guys. Today I was going to talk about some good things that happened in my project. I have learned(partially) how to code and did not have any fails in my project. The hardest thing that I did was solder the wires and the contact points in the motors together. This can be done with a soldering iron. It wasn't really that hard for me because I have soldered before but it just took a long time. My dad also helped me with this so I wouldn't burn myself accidentally. The one skill that I learned in this project that would help me in the future was how to code. I think that in the future, coding is going to be necessary with the growing numbers of computers. This is one of the reasons that I have decided to do this project. Thanks you for reading my blogs. Bye!

How My Project Will Help Me In The Future
Hey guys. Today, I just wanted to talk about how this project will help me in the future and why I decided to do this. I was always interested in robotics and mechanics since I was a kid. I also was very interested in coding and small computers. This is why I wanted to do this project. I think that this project will help me if I wanted to become a computer engineer which is one of the jobs that I want to have when I grow up. As always, thank you for reading my blogs. See you later!

Update
Project Update
I have already assembled my rover and I think that it will work out great. I might have some problems mounting the battery and the Raspberry Pi but a hot glue will fix that. I will upload a picture of the rover once I am done with it completely. I have started to learn how to code and I will post my updates on that as well. I think that I have to work on my 20% time at home to show you guys my project completely. Here are the parts list that I bought.
Later Guys!

Nothing Much...
This week, nothing significant happened. I had numerous tests and tons of homework so I couldn't work on any of my 20% time. I will make more blogs next week when I actually begin to work on things. Sorry guys but no improvements on my project for this week. 😩

Creating a Blog
Hi. Today I'm going to talk about something different, creating blogs. I will talk about some difficulties, successes, as well as some of the tricks and skills I learned. Okay, so there were little difficulties during creating my blog because most of the time, the idea that I want to write about is in my head and I can just type what I think. The most difficult part was having time to write these blogs. It is not that difficult but I keep forgetting to write the blogs every week. I had many "successes" because I consider things that are not failures successes. The trick that I learned was to insert pictures in the blogs to make them look more lively and better instead of just boring words. I think that is all I have time for today. See you next week!

First Week Blog
Hi, my name is Daniel. Last week, I bought all of my supplies for my remote-controlled rover. I checked over all of them and I think they are going to work very well for my purpose. I will begin to learn how to code in Python starting from today. I have talked to my dad about my project and he said that he was going to help me learn coding since he is really good at it. He learned about 4 kinds of coding language when he was in college. I think that he will help my a lot during my project. I have also found an expert in my topic field on YouTube. His account is called "Explaining Computers".
Here is the website address for anyone who wants to visit his website on YouTube. Here is also his official website. He has already made a remote-controlled rover out of Raspberry Pi and coded everything that controls it so it should help very much. He has done a lot of computer related stuff over the years, which I'm interested in, so that's why I picked him to be my guide on this project. I think I will end it here for today's blog. Until next time!

20% Time Proposal
[2/3/17]
[Daniel

Proposal: [Making a Rover Using Raspberry
Pi]
[How to Remotely Control a Rover]
Needs and Opportunities
Are you solving a problem for yourself or others? How will
this project be a learning and growing experience? What is your goal? I am solving a problem for myself. I always wanted to
learn how to code but didn’t have enough time. Now, I can finally learn it.
This project will be a learning experience by me getting to learn how to code.
I can grow my knowledge by this. My final goal is to be really good in coding.
Audience / Clients / Users
Explain who will benefit from your project. Who is your
audience – who might be interested in following your blog and learning about
your project? People who are interested in coding can
benefit from my project by seeing how I coded from scratch. My audience is
going to be people who want to try to make a project using coding.
Mentors
Who can help you with this project? Who will you need to
contact and what will you ask them to commit to in helping you? My dad is going to be my mentor for this project. I will
need to ask him to help me code because he is very good in coding.
Timeline
What is your monthly timeline for this project? I want to
see a list of deliverables with deadlines. You may find that the timeline needs
adjustment during the course of the year, which may be fine. Check in with me
if that’s the case.

Product
What is the actual product you will show this spring? This
project may or may not be made of atoms or bits, but you must have something to
show. I’m not interested seeing a bunch of great ideas at the end of the year.
I want to see things. I
will show my remote controlled rover this spring.
Technology
You will have to use technology in some way on presentation
day – think about how you can use the tools available to add life into your
project and enhance what you are doing. (Video, laptops, apps, cell phones,
music, etc.) I
will use my computer to code and learn how to code.
Reality Check
I am looking for you to shoot for the moon here and do
anything you can dream of, but even moonshots need budgets. What equipment are
you going to need? What other capital expenditures do you anticipate, and how
will you meet them? I am going to need a Raspberry Pi 3 with its
case. I am going to need a battery and a battery bank. I am going to need a
voltage controller and a breadboard. I am finally going to need a wireless
keyboard. I anticipate spending up to $150. I will use my money that I have right
now.
Possible Roadblocks
What other roadblocks can you predict – time, resources,
motivation etc. Explain what you might do when you come to each roadblock to
reach your goal. I think that I might have some time
shortages and not having resources that I need. I will need to “make more time”
and try to find the parts I need.
Conclusion
Wrap it up. Why are you fired up about this project?
Inspire me to support you, and give me a great reason to approve your project. I am excited about learning how to code and making my own
unique project. I really want to control something using a computer and test my
knowledge to its edge. I plan to use my coding skills I will learn for other
projects in the future or possibly as my job. Thank you.
